The Dancer's Journey: Injury Recovery
Like any athlete, dancers dread injuries. Getting hurt can happen from chronic overuse, such as shin splints or stress fractures, or it can result from an acute injury, like an ankle sprain. Whatever the cause, injuries may lead to difficult setbacks both physically and mentally. I caught up with company demi-soloists Cassandra and Rowan to learn more about how their injuries and recoveries have impacted them as dancers.

Although our blog post earlier this month looked back on our 2024-2025 season, there's an important postscript to our 46th season: our yearly Arts Integration performance with Anne Arundel County Public Schools. For this performance, young students from seven elementary schools were involved in every part of the process: from writing and designing costumes to learning choreography and performing.
