Catherine Welch
Demi-Soloist
Catherine Welch, originally from Encinitas, California, began her formal ballet training at To The Pointe Ballet School and continued her training at the University of Utah where she received a BFA in Ballet with a teaching emphasis. While in university, she was also a member of the Character Dance Ensemble where she was able to train and perform in L’viv, Ukraine and the Basque Region of Spain. Catherine joined Ballet Theatre of Maryland in 2018 as a Trainee, was promoted to Apprentice in 2019, and to Demi-Soloist in 2022. During her time with the company, she has been able to perform in productions including Swan Lake, Napoli, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Don Quixote, Eddie Stewart’s Sapphire Romance, Dianna Cuatto’s The Nutcracker, Italian Symphonette, and Bolero, Coppélia, and Roman Mykyta’s The Little Slippers.
