Erin Jenkins
Demi-Soloist
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Erin Jenkins received her ballet training at Pittsburgh Ballet House under the direction of Kwang-suk Choi and Sae Young Kang. After competing at ADC/IBC, Erin was offered a scholarship for BalletMet’s trainee program. While there she performed closely with the company and artistic director, Edwaard Liang, in all of their classical productions. She was fortunate to perform principal roles in several of George Balanchine’s ballets such as Serenade, Walpurgisnacht, and Western Symphony. As well as other classical roles, including Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty and Swanilda in Coppelia.
Erin continued her career at Fort Wayne Ballet and had the honor of performing in the world premier of “An Evening of Sterlie,” where the company honored Edward Sterlie’s legacy by performing all three of his ballets together for the first time ever.
Erin then joined the Ballet Theatre of Maryland for their 45th season and has had the privilege of dancing multiple featured roles. Some highlights have been the lead artist in Emily Carey’s “Concerto Lila”, “Linda Rae” Pas de deux by Lindsey Bell, Zulma in Giselle, Pas de Six in Napoli, Tall Swans in Swan Lake, and the Songbird Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty. Erin is very excited for her fourth season at BTM and to continue her growth as an artist.
