Brooke Altman

Brooke Altman is a versatile and expressive dance artist originally from Towson, Maryland. She began her training at age three at White Marsh Ballet Academy, studying Ballet, Pointe, Partnering, Modern, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop under the guidance of Shari Vasquez Bickel, Sandra Harris, and Lindsey Bell. Brooke continued her pre-professional education at Carver Center for Arts and Technology, training under Stephanie Powell and Maria Royals, and performing guest works by Elizabeth Ahearn and Ryan Johnson. During her time at Carver Center, she also attended and performed at both the Regional High School Dance Festival and the National High School Dance Festival, expanding her early performance experience and exposure to diverse choreographic voices. To further deepen her technical range and artistic growth, she has attended summer intensives with Louisville Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Royal City School of Ballet and Jazz, and Ballet Jörgen.

Brooke holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Studies from Florida Southern College, where she performed in works by faculty members Allison Baber, Erin LaSala Phillips, CJ Inzirillo, Stefan Dolbashien, Shantell Caven, and CJ Houck-Cox, as well as guest artists including Alexandra Tiso, Theresa Jimmerson, Jackie Nowicki, and Sarah Walston. During her time at Florida Southern, she also attended and performed at the American College Dance Association, further enriching her collegiate performance experience. In addition to her performance work, Brooke continued to expand upon her choreographic endeavors that began in high school, completing choreography courses as well as dance history coursework that deepened her understanding of the art form’s lineage and informed her creative voice. 

Brooke joined Ballet Theatre of Maryland as a Trainee in 2025, earning her place as an Apprentice in 2026. She will continue to serve on the Conservatory Faculty, sharing her strong technical foundation and passion for dance education with the next generation of artists. Brooke is eager to continue growing with Ballet Theatre of Maryland and looks forward to all that this season has to offer.
