Amber Sanders
Apprentice
Amber Sanders began her dance training at the age of 3, learning under Monique Foster at the Academy of Ballet Alamogordo, New Mexico in 2009. Choosing to settle down, her airforce family moved to Chillicothe, Illinois in 2011 where she trained at elite studios. After attending for three years, Amber desired a stronger focus on ballet, so she transitioned to Cornerstone Academy for Performing Arts, where she trained in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and Cunningham modern technique under Rebekah Von Rathonyi, Jessie Williams, and Maya De Leon. In 2021 Amber decided to pursue a professional career in dance and was offered a trainee position with Cornerstone's professional company, Central Illinois Ballet. During her time with CAPA and CIB, she had the pleasure of performing several leading roles such as The Crystal Fountain Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, Myrtha in Giselle, and Clara in The Nutcracker. She attended summer programs at Peridance, The Rock, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, and several at Central Illinois Ballet including one led by Laura Alonso. In 2024 Amber joined Ballet Theatre of Maryland as a trainee and is excited to join the company as an apprentice in 2025.
