River Byrd

River Byrd is originally from North Carolina, where he began studying ballet under the direction of Cedar Lannon at age 10. He went on to further his training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet with Marcia Dale Weary, Darla Hoover and Nicolas Ade. There he had the opportunity to perform in Balanchine’s Serenade, Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. After finishing his training at CPYB, River joined the Ballet Theatre of Maryland as an Apprentice in 2020. He was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2021 and is now excited to start his third season with Ballet Theatre of Maryland as a Soloist.
