Carrie Cornelius

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Carrie began studying ballet seriously in high school, although she has been dancing since she was two and a half. Carrie trained and performed with the City Ballet of Cleveland under Courtney Laves-Mearini, where she had the opportunity to perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. She attended summer intensives at Ballet Met, Ballet West, Oklahoma City Ballet, and Ballet Austin. After high school, Carrie attended the University of Utah, where she graduated with a BFA in Ballet and a minor in Nutrition. In her three years at Utah, she performed in Jay Kim’s Swan Lake, worked with Penny Saunders, and learned choreography by Alejandro Cerrudo. Carrie joined Ballet Theatre of Maryland as a trainee in 2018 and then spent two years as an Apprentice. She is excited to be dancing with BTM as a Demi Soloist this year!
