Mini Performances

During the 2021-2022 academic year, the Ballet Theatre of Maryland will offer shortened performances of three of the company’s season productions.  “Minis” are performances especially staged for school groups and senior centers held at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis.  There is ample free parking for buses and access for persons with disabilities. Students will be engaged with a full-fledged story ballet as narration, sets, costumes, props, professional dancers, ballet, musical theatre and music, mesh to transform historic, classic, and fabled tales into powerful artistic experiences. Each performance is approximately one hour long and is preceded by a brief introduction to help the students enjoy and appreciate the ballet to follow. The goal is to introduce ballet to children using the powerful language of dance as a means of understanding literature, history, and culture.

Coppélia Mini Show

Originally choreographed by Saint-Leon in 1870 to the music of Delibes, Coppélia is considered one of the greatest comic ballets of the 19th Century. It has remained one of the best-loved classical works in the ballet repertory. This fractured fairy tale is about a pair of lovers, an eccentric inventor, and his beautiful, yet mysterious, daughter will entertain and delight an audience of all ages.

*Please note, masks will be required at all times at Maryland Hall. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test will NOT be required. Seating will be to capacity and not socially distanced*

THIS PERFORMANCE IS FOR SCHOOL GROUPS AND SENIOR CENTERS ONLY! To pay via check, please call 410-224-5644.
