SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Ballet Theatre of Maryland, the state's premier professional ballet company, offers special mini-shows of select performances exclusively for schools, homeschool groups, and senior citizen groups during its season. Professional dancers (and some gifted student dancers) perform classical ballet in costume at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St, Annapolis. Mini-shows offer students the experience of seeing selected pieces from a live ballet performance in the theatre setting at a discounted rate. All performances take place during school hours and each performance is approximately one hour long and is preceded by a brief talk to enhance the students' understanding and appreciation.

Arts Integration Residency Program in Anne Arundel County Schools
The BTM residency/performance program with Anne Arundel County Public Schools began in the 2012-2013 season and continues today with partial support to the schools from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County. In this residency program, a BTM teacher teaches 10 weeks in 5 different underserved elementary schools, using arts integration for students to create a story ballet segment, make dialogue, props, choreography and an informative speaker presentation. Students are also mentored by professional dancers. The program culminates with a public performance with BTM company dancers at North County High School.
